The Tone City Black Tea is a distortion pedal in an amp-in-a-box format, voiced for a classic British AC30-style tone. At lower to medium gain settings, it delivers a sweet, crisp overdrive with a mellow mid-range, reminiscent of the old “Top Boost” amplifiers from the late 1960s.
The pedal responds dynamically to your playing and the guitar’s Volume control, with good clean-up when the volume is rolled back. A built-in charge pump provides increased headroom and supports the pedal’s wide dynamic range.
