Laney Digbeth DB-EAST Nathan East Bass Amplifier 1000W

The Laney DB-EAST is a signature bass amplifier head developed in collaboration with legendary bassist Nathan East. Handcrafted at Laney's Black Country Customs workshop in the UK, it combines the company's 60 years of amplifier design and production experience with modern technology for professional bass applications.

The DB-EAST provides two separate instrument inputs and two separate DI outputs. Each input is routed through the preamp to its own dedicated DI output, and the corresponding DI output is selected automatically when you switch inputs. This gives you separate signal paths when using multiple basses, including for front-of-house or room mixing.

Switchable and blendable FET and tube preamp

The preamp section combines the clarity of FET circuitry with the warmth of a tube stage. The FET and tube channels can be blended to taste, and channel selection can be controlled remotely.

Flexible tone control

The amplifier features bass, middle and treble controls with ± level adjustment, a parametric mid section with selectable preshape voicing, and Laney's Tilt control. This provides a broad range of tonal options, from clear and articulate sounds to more pronounced mid-scooped settings.

LA·IR DI system

Both DI outputs feature Laney's LA·IR technology and provide independent IR, pre/post and EQ settings. The DB-EAST comes loaded with two of Nathan East's preferred cabinet impulse responses: one for a 2x12 cabinet and one for a 4x10 cabinet. Two IRs can be stored directly on the amplifier, one for each DI output.

The free LA·IR app lets you load your own IRs and adjust an independent parametric EQ for each IR. The USB Type-C socket connects to the LA·IR app and also supports audio in and out, allowing the amplifier to connect directly to a DAW for silent recording.

1000 watts and dual outputs

The DB-EAST delivers 1000 watts through two speakON-compatible outputs rated at 500 W RMS each. Each output requires a minimum impedance of 4 ohms.
