The EarthQuaker Devices Towers Soundscape Generator is a stereo reverberant filter designed to create expansive soundscapes from a simple input signal. A chain of finely tuned, repeating micro-delays produces a dense, cathedral-like reverb with depth and spatial breadth.

At the heart of the unit is a resonant low-pass filter inspired by classic vintage synthesizers. It adds a warm, dark character and harmonic resonance to the reverb signal. The filter frequency can be controlled in three ways: Manual mode lets you set the frequency directly and move the left and right channels in opposite directions; Envelope mode makes the filter respond to playing dynamics; and LFO mode uses a slow-moving oscillator to continuously move the sound through the stereo field, with adjustable speed.

The Stretch function slows down the internal digital system, effectively doubling the reverb time. This produces lo-fi textures, stretched delay structures, attenuated frequencies and a pitch-bending effect during the morphing process. Stretch can be activated momentarily or sustained using its dedicated footswitch.

Eight memory locations allow quick recall of stored settings. The pedal offers Live and Preset modes, true bypass switching, and two bypass options: Tails, where the effect fades out, and Full Bypass, where the effect is cut off immediately.
