The Donner Seeker Deluxe Bass electric bass package in Surf Green is a 4-string J-style electric bass designed as an accessible starting point for beginners. It is also suitable for guitarists who want to try bass, or for experienced bassists looking for an additional instrument for home, rehearsal or recording.

Its two Donner Custom J-Style pickups, straightforward passive electronics and full scale length provide a familiar foundation for bass lines, rhythms and grooves.

Two pickups for different bass sounds

The bass features one pickup at the neck and one pickup at the bridge. The neck pickup produces a warm, rounded tone, while the bridge pickup adds more punch and a brighter tonal character. Blending the two pickups allows you to achieve a balanced sound with a clear low end.

The controls comprise a separate volume control for each pickup and a shared master tone control. The passive circuit makes it easy to shape the sound using the pickup blend and tone control.

Comfort for everyday practice

The neck is made of roasted maple and has a slim C profile with a satin finish. The roasted maple gives the neck and fingerboard a darker, caramel-coloured appearance. Rounded fret edges contribute to comfortable contact with the fingerboard while practising scales, grooves and complete songs.

The 34" / 864 mm scale length provides the full-scale bass feel familiar to many players. With a 38 mm nut width, the instrument offers a slim and easy-to-navigate starting point in the first positions of the neck.

Characteristics of a J-style electric bass

A J-style electric bass is characterised by two elongated, single-coil-style pickups and separate volume controls. This makes it possible to move from a rounder, deeper tone to a more focused and articulate sound, or to blend the two tonal characters.
