Proper operation of Cooperstand stands
Opening the hinge first or closing it last produces a tension on the wooden parts that can break them.
- To open: open back legs and vertical supports first, then OPEN HINGE LAST.
- To close: CLOSE HINGE FIRST, then close vertical supports and back legs last.
Instruments finished with Nitrocellulose Lacquer Cooperstand stands are compatible with Nitrocellulose lacquer. However, nitrocellulose lacquer takes about one year to totally cure, depending on environment, during which the material can remain semi-soft for an extended period of time. As a result, if a new instrument is on long term display on any stand manufactured today, regardless of manufacturer, it could leave an impression or dent in the instrument's finish.
