The Pro-G Sapele is the original US-patented stand that folds up to fit inside a guitar case. Made from sustainable, solid African Sapele hardwood, it is designed to securely support one stringed instrument at a time in a protected or supervised environment. It is suitable for presentations, studio use, home use and display. Sapele is an exotic hardwood also used in the construction of stringed instruments and should be handled with care.

The stand accommodates acoustic guitars up to 12.7 cm thick and electric or bass guitars up to 5.7 cm thick. It is also suitable for ukuleles, mandolins, autoharps, chromaharps and other stringed instruments. When folded, it fits neatly inside most instrument cases and gig bags.

  • Solid African Sapele construction
  • Inert silicone pads at contact points
  • Closed-cell neoprene padding
  • Firm neoprene padding in narrow contact areas
  • Stainless steel hinge with non-slip pins
  • Two-position back brace
  • Folded dimensions: 22.2 × 11.4 × 3.8 cm
  • Footprint: 33 cm deep × 27.9 cm wide
  • Supplied with a black velveteen bag

Proper Opening and Folding

Opening the hinge first or closing it last creates tension in the wooden parts, which can cause them to break.

  • Opening: Unfold the back legs and vertical supports first. Open the hinge last.
  • Folding: Close the hinge first. Then fold in the vertical supports and back legs.

Instruments with Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finishes

The Cooperstand is compatible with nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. However, depending on environmental conditions, this lacquer can take approximately one year to cure fully and may remain semi-soft for an extended period. If a new instrument is displayed on a stand for a long time, the contact points may leave marks or indentations in the finish, regardless of the stand's manufacturer.
