The Fender® American Vintage II series presents remarkably accurate recreations of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of musical history. Built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the character of vintage Fender craftsmanship and tone.

Introduced in 1972 as the top model in the Telecaster® family, the Telecaster Deluxe was Fender's first solid-body Telecaster with two humbucking pickups. The American Vintage II 1975 Telecaster Deluxe features a large Stratocaster®-style headstock, a comfort-contoured belly cut and two authentic CuNiFe Wide-Range humbucking pickups mounted to an elongated pickguard. Dual volume and tone controls and a three-way toggle switch are positioned on the upper bout. The CuNiFe magnets, which had been out of production since 1981, were brought back to recreate the sound of the original Wide-Range humbuckers. These pickups retain the clarity and snap associated with Fender single-coils while delivering higher output and thicker timbres.

The 1975 “C”-shape hard rock maple neck features a 9.5” radius maple fingerboard and medium-jumbo frets. In keeping with 1975 production, the guitar is equipped with a convenient “Bullet”-style truss rod nut, a three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ adjustment mechanism and a gloss polyurethane finish over an alder body. Alder provides a balanced tone with pronounced mids and a robust low end. Other features include a six-saddle, string-through-body hardtail bridge with stainless steel block saddles and vintage-accurate Tele® Deluxe tuners.

From the bridge to the string tree and tuning machines, the American Vintage II hardware is made to look, sound and function like the hardware on the originals. Much of it is still manufactured using original Fender factory machines from the 1950s and 1960s. The instruments in the American Vintage II series are direct descendants of the original Fender instruments, created for players who appreciate vintage Fender tone and feel and built with attention to detail down to the last screw.
