Unlike most multiple-output power supplies which connect their outputs in parallel, the Provolt 9 employs star grounding that effectively suppresses hum for clean, high-quality sound. If any of the outputs is accidentally shorted, a short-protection feature protects the internal circuitry from damage while keeping all other outputs active.
