The Cloud 44 is a passive ribbon microphone. From music legends and modern artists to radio broadcasters, the Cloud 44 delivers that special ribbon microphone sound for voice and music. To offer as much flexibility as possible, each Cloud 44 comes with its own Cloudlifter CL-1 Mic Activator in matching black 'Midnight Edition', which offers the ability to convert the 44 into an active ribbon at any time. A shock-absorbing microphone mount is also included. Passive output
While the Cloud 44-A is "active" and has built-in Cloudlifter circuitry, the Cloud 44 is passive and is suitable for louder sources or when close miking is desired.

The Cloud 44 comes with its own Cloudlifter CL-1 Mic Activator in a matching black finish, which offers the ability to achieve ultra-clean gain and can also be used with other ribbon, dynamic or tube microphones.
