The Classic Vibe™ Active ’70s Jazz Bass® V draws inspiration from the iconic basses that defined the funky tones of the 1970s, adding an onboard preamp for a combination of vintage looks and modern performance. This five-string Squier® bass features a pair of Fender Designed™ alnico Noiseless™ J Bass® pickups. Their dual-coil design eliminates unwanted noise from the signal while retaining tonal richness, detail and punch.

The 9-volt preamp provides controls for volume, pickup blend, tone and treble/bass boost, along with a switch for changing between active and passive operation. The tone control functions in both settings, while engaging the preamp provides added bass and treble boost control.

Other details include a HiMass™ bridge with a top-load design and a higher-mass plate for added resonance and sustain. Its five beefed-up saddles sit securely in saddle slots for rock-solid intonation and stability. The bound fingerboard features block inlays and improves visibility of the side markers in dark playing environments. Nickel-plated hardware adds a classic look, while the gloss neck finish contributes to a slick playing feel and features a subtle vintage tint for a throwback appearance.
