The Classic Vibe™ Active ’70s Jazz Bass® draws inspiration from the infamous basses that defined the funky tones of the 1970s, adding an onboard preamp for a combination of vintage looks and modern performance.

This Squier® bass features a pair of Fender Designed™ alnico Noiseless™ J Bass® pickups. Their dual-coil design eliminates unwanted noise while retaining tonal richness, detail and punch. The onboard preamp is powered by a 9-volt battery and provides controls for volume, pickup blend, tone, treble and bass boost, along with a switch for active or passive operation. The tone control works in both settings, while active mode engages the preamp for added bass and treble boost control.

Other details include a HiMass™ top-load bridge with a higher-mass plate that adds resonance and sustain. Its four beefed-up saddles sit securely in saddle slots for stable intonation and tuning. The bound fingerboard with block inlays adds vintage charm and improves visibility of the side markers in dark playing environments. Rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a gloss, vintage-tinted neck finish complete the classic look, while the finish provides a slick playing feel.
