DR Strings DBSMB45 Dragon Skin+ is a specialised 4-string bass set designed for multi-scale basses and instruments with extended scale lengths. The strings are made from stainless steel with a roundwound construction and round core.
The ultra-thin Dragon Skin+ coating helps protect against corrosion and wear while preserving the strings’ natural tone and playing feel. The coating also helps reduce the build-up of sweat and dirt, which can result in a longer lifespan than standard uncoated strings. Wiping the strings after use is recommended to maximise their lifespan.
The set delivers a clear, precise tone with pronounced attack, strong definition and sustain. It is designed to provide high output with a focus on precision and durability, making it well suited to modern bass tones as well as funk, rock, metal and fusion. The strings are optimised for both low notes and fast passages.
DBSMB45 is intended primarily for multi-scale instruments and basses with extended scale lengths. For standard-scale instruments or a warmer vintage tone, alternative nickel-coated sets may be considered.
