The Valeton GP-5 is a compact guitar multi-effects unit with more than 100 HD effects and support for up to nine effect blocks at the same time. It combines a tuner, IR loader, SnapTone-NAM technology, audio interface and drum patterns in a housing measuring just 93.5 × 42 × 52 mm and weighing 237 g.
The GP-5 can be used in front of a traditional guitar amplifier, either through the amplifier's input or effects loop, or as a complete solution for headphone practice, USB recording, or direct connection to a PA system or active monitor. Bluetooth can be used for backing tracks and app control, while the desktop software allows you to edit patches on a computer.
SnapTone supports loading NAM files (Neural Amp Modeler) and user-defined IR files for cabinet emulation. The GP-5 includes 50 preloaded SnapTone files and space for up to 80 NAM/SnapTone files. The built-in IR loader accommodates 20 user-defined cabinet IRs. The GP-5 can deliver the full signal or function as an effects block in a larger setup.
The 100 patch locations comprise 50 factory patches and 50 user patches. Up to nine effect blocks can run simultaneously, with an adjustable order and a choice of analogue or digital bypass.
The colour LCD screen and LED footswitch with four modes—Patch, Songlist, Stomp CTL and Tuner/Bypass—provide clear control. Connections include stereo 1/4" TRS outputs, a headphone output, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C for audio, MIDI and firmware. A mobile app and desktop software for editing and updating are included.
