Electro-Harmonix has been a leading manufacturer of guitar effects pedals since the 60s. It is impossible to talk about Electro-Harmonix without mentioning Mike Matthews, the man behind it. He has run both the company and the development of new pedals since 1968. The first pedal he developed, in collaboration with Bob Myer, was the LPB-1. A relatively simple, but pleasing booster - in fact so pleasing that they still produce it! The following year, perhaps the most iconic distortion pedal ever was born, the Big Muff. Fuzz and distortion were the big things in 1969, and on the pedalboards of many of the pioneers you could find a Big Muff! It was used by both Hendrix and Santana, among others, and is still one of the most iconic pedals you can have on your board!
